Agilent OVEN repair method
TCXO do not output 10MHz .
OLD type has internal thermal fuse for protection .
Some item easy repair as replace fuse .
This type has no fuse inside.

Remove 4 screw to open can .
Pull down the nilon belt with Thermal Insulation.
Open circuit board with quartz.

Power Supplu need 2 line one is 12V for Oscillation circuit.
other is 20-30V DCV for Heater 70-80 degC .
It has Oven Monitor output.

Power Supply 12V 100mA connect it.
Current Limit had better set under 100mA avoid accidental short circuit .

Check waveform output to inside .
Check Quartz terminal by probe DSO .
If no osillation ther and you doubt quartz is bad .
Remove quartz unit with Ternmal heat sink for de-solder 5 points leg of unit. |

Set it another 10MHz X-tal if you have not it but available any X-tal 5MHz etc.
If oscillation is revover you have to replace it .
This part hard to find at market .
I test Quartz that one terminal connect 10MHz Generator other terminal connect DSO probe.
DSO show 10MHz I sweep frequency near 10MHz up down DSO peak level at 10MHz .
It is good work . I have return it . |
